Really great book. The book spins many of the fairytale tropes on it's ear. If you watched the movie before the book, I'm sorry. This it way better then the movie. Infact, after reading the book I would love for someone to make another…

Way better than the movie, so good.

Ella Enchanted captured my imagination as a child of 9 back in 1999 and was my favourite novel for years. I can honestly say that it was my first glimpse of pure and giving romance and that it was the first book that I cried from reading!

A Cinderella story that is beautifully told, and is far better than the movie. Well worth a re-read even as an adult to see what originally captured my interest two decades ago.

(SPOILER ALERT!!) This book is basically a rad version of CinderELLA that is a very twisted plot which—to me—was absolutely unexpected!! I love this book to death and own some other novels of the authors books, including Ella Enchanted.…

I really really love this book! This is one of my favourite books, and I never get tired of reading it. I would give it all five stars, but I feel like the romance between Ella and Char could be developed further, since the romance seems a…

This is a great book. I have read it about three times. At some parts I was almost crying, but the ending is very happy. I was sad that I finished it. But I can read it over if I want to.

This re-told story changed my life - it's a book that turned me into a reader with its strong independent female characters and entrancing re-telling of Cinderella. I honestly never would have turned to a life of reading without this…

4 Stars - I recommend if you are looking for a middle-grade fairy tale retelling with an imagination, a and a strong female lead. Ella is cursed. She was made to be obedient from birth, and now does whatever she is told to do. Her goal…

This is one of my favorite books! So far I've read it twice, but I intend to read it more in the future! The book is WAY better than the movie. Don't get me wrong, the movie is GREAT, but it dosn't really stick to the plot line of this…

A childhood favorite of mine. Ella Enchanted has enchanted my family's library for years and years. (Pun intended) It's a VERY good book, and while the movie is also good too (in a weird/funny way) there is so much more you can learn by…

Ella Enchanted, a book written by Gail Carson Levine, is a great book that the movie does not do justice to. When Ella is born a fairy gives her the "gift" of obedience. I say "gift" because it meant she would be always forced to obey…

I’ll get this out of the way first: Ella Enchanted is a little dated, especially regarding gender roles. And on a slightly different note, for a Cinderella re-telling, I wanted not only the plot to be remixed, but the power structures as…

A cute little fairy tale, a retelling of one of the classics with a few new twists. I haven't seen the 2004 movie with the same title, but from what I've read and seen online, although it's based on the book, it's quite a bit different.…

This book is awesome! Very well written and great for all ages. I recommend that if you have read the book and loved it, don't watch the movie, the movie does NOT follow the book accurately.

I first read Ella Enchanted around age 11, and I literally got up out of bed so I could go and finish reading it because I needed to know how it ended. I have since reread it many times, and I still absolutely love it.

I liked this fairy-tale mostly because of the characters. All the female characters have their own personalities, but none are helpless. The broad range of temperaments including evil, quirky, ordinary, clever and resourceful, make the…

Astoundingly wonderful! I read this some time ago, and I can still remember how great it was. Gail Levine really put a twist to the old fairy-tale everyone knows. I can't say enough how superb this is. You must read this!

I think this book was great, but maybe for older readers. There were a few mature scenes, and younger kids might find it a bit confusing. However, this book had a lot of positive messages, and I think it is very good.

The movie holds no candle to this book. I first read this when I was in elementary school and a few more times later on in life. The great tale hadn't faded, nor its messages dim. A heroine with an unfortunate "blessing" placed upon her, a…
