Wow, read that fast. Only two and a half nights, didn't even have time to write a part-way through review. I looked through some of the other reviews (on another website) and I'm surprised by how many people hated it, "Her worst book" etc. While I did have a problem with the horrible, violent way he changed her, that was my only real complaint. I felt sorry for Zacarias' inability to see colours, even after meeting his lifemate Marguarita. He's spent over 1000 years stopping Carpathians who have weakened and killed while feeding, but he still doesn't get total peace, he has to continue his dark mission. I didn't think this was much different in quality to the previous Feehan books that I've read, which is why I was surprised to see so many bad reviews. Dark Predator continues the story of the De La Cruz brothers, and while they are mentioned reasonably frequently in relation to Zacarias' memories, they are only featured in two scenes in real time, which I was a little disappointed about, because with these kinds of series I especially enjoy learning what's happening with past characters
