Prettiest was an amazing follow up to Uglies. Normally, the second book isn't as good as the first, but this book was packed with the same action and romance, and the blood curling cliff hanger at the end. I completely enjoyed this book. This YA novel was so interesting to read. It satisfyingly quenched my thirst for seeing what is was like to be a pretty. It was also fun to learn all of the new pretty lingo and get a peak at what their parties are like. Additionally, I love the cover art of this series! The legs with the surgical marks is genius! I know you're not supposed to judge a book by it's cover, but an interesting cover really draws you in. If I had to choose one con about this book, it would probably be that Tally didn't stay in the New Smoke for long. I was so curious to see what it would be like, but once she got there the specials just took her away again. It also kind of bothers me how David didn't really put up a fight for Tally. It's like he didn't really care that she chose Zane when David was gone. I mean, I know he put up a little fight at the end when Tally wanted to wait for the Specials with Zane, but it seemed like he was just trying to save her life, he wasn't actually doing it because he wanted to be with her and he loved her. And then he left so easily when she insulted him. Couldn't he see through that? Over all, I highly recommend Prettiest by Scott Westerfeld. An absolutely fascinating work of art.
