The Big Open

on Foot Across Tibet's Chang Tang
Jan 06, 2015Ron@Ottawa rated this title 3.5 out of 5 stars
Four American adventurers pulled a 250-pound rickshaw each to trek across a part of the Tibetan plateau for a month, tracing the migration path of the Chiru, or Tibetan antelope, which was endangered due to poaching. With lots of details and background info, you will enjoy the book if you are into wildlife conservation. I am not, so I skipped a good part of the book to just focus on the trek itself. Still, a good read for armchair adventurers.
