Lorna Landvik has an amazing knack for writing about the friendships between women. In ANGRY HOUSEWIVES EATING BON-BONS she chronicles the lives of five women friends in Minnesota who establish a book club: beautiful Merit, oversexed Audrey, activist Slip, Dallas transplant Faith, and late-life adoptive mother Kari. Over thirty years we follow and share each woman''s experiences as the group members mature, bearing and raising children, experiencing marital ups and downs, reaching epiphanies... and meeting monthly to discuss books. The story takes place in the changing social context of midwest America between the late 1960s and the late 1990s. Landvik''s characters are immediately likable, and her talent for writing conversation shines particularly brightly in ANGRY HOUSEWIVES.
