Ugh. Another film with such potential!! I know it's tough to find a good script, but lately, the number of films that have unbelievable dialog & characters, are incredibly infantile (i.e. what's excepted as a "normal" maturity level for ALL characters is somewhere in Middle School.), and are very dark (practically demonic), is astounding. This is another one of those. Oh, and add demented... To note: I'm talking about the responses & reactions of the characters, and as for the real insidiousness, it's subtle (to most viewers). I'm not talking about the obvious downer overtone of the entire film, though that's another thing. Let's see if I get this straight: 17 & 18 year old men discover/attain this kind of power, and they approach it like immature 11 year olds? Yes, I get that one of the characters is mental (more than the others lol), but the dynamics, responses, and reactions are not believable. e.g. one decides he needs money, and with his power, he approaches it the way it was scripted!?! (It's analogous to wanting the chips & money out of a casino, and instead of teleporting them out the door, you murder everyone inside, then go in -on camera- and scoop everything up off the table manually.) Get real... There are many other examples, but here's another particular fav: once attaining a level of power akin to Superman, they produce a skit for a H.S. magic show??? The fantasy part of the script is fine (It's a movie!), but I'm supposed to believe that anyone with that kind of power, is still worried about whether someone in their H.S. thinks they're "cool"!?! LOL I don't think so.
