Directed and co-written by Sam Raimi in 1992 as the 3rd installment of the Evil Dead series, this American fantasy dramedy depicts a somewhat silly time travel of the protagonist who goes back to the Middle Ages and struggles to return to the present.
With weird special makeup effects of the dead people and monsters, the hilarious story makes you laugh to death from time to time.
Although the story seems stupid and foolish, I enjoyed it to the bare bones.

As I'm getting older I find that I have less and less tolerance for the likes of modern-day horror movies and all of their gory, gruesome, blood-splattered "in-your-face" nonsense.

And, speaking about "nonsense" - I'd definitely say that "Army Of Darkness" took the meaning of that word to the absolute max. It really did.

And, after patiently sitting through all of the utter nonsense that "Army Of Darkness" dished out in bucket-fulls - I seriously think that I'm gonna steer clear of horror movies for a long, long time to come. Yep. I sure am.

Let me tell ya - If you choose to skip watching this one - I guarantee - You ain't missing nuthin'!

1992's "Army Of Darkness" may have been rated as "Restricted" (to 18 years and over) - But, its story's overall mindset was clearly that of a decidedly infantile mentality.

I found that "Army Of Darkness" seemed to be deliberately delivering its element of horror with such an over-the-top frenzy. And, I guess this was to make sure that its audience wouldn't notice how really bad its dumbed-down story actually was.

Believe it, or not - "Army Of Darkness" actually had the gall to even throw a corny romance into the whole messy mix of its story (for good measure).

The Evil Dead series was originally off the wall. Then Sam Raimi bounced it around the room, dragged it under the sofa, threw it in a blender, and shipped the rest of the pieces to medieval Europe. The result was Army of Darkness. This movie is the gruyere of horror movie cheese. Enough to give you the creeps, but melty enough to keep you laughing. Literally, Bruce Campbell's face melts in a few scenes. Raimi's signature creature effects make the movie. Bruce Campbell's chin does the rest.

Quite probably the finest film ever made - - or nearly!

Hilarious, campy horror at its best. Great one liners. Bruce Campbell is the King, baby!

This is a really stupid movie, and I can't believe all of the good reviews. I saw how well it was rated and decided to try watching it, but after seeing half of it I had to stop. I'd give it zero stars out of 5.

One of the Chin That Walks Like a Man's finest hours. (Which is his finest? -- all of them!) Bruce Campbell is ridiculous and handsome, the Deadites are deadly, and the laughs keep coming. To chime in with Kikokun, if you and children can watch this movie together, you did a fine job in rearing them. Kudos.

All right, you primitive screwheads, listen up:
This is one of the greatest movies ever, and good fun for all the family (kids 6 and up).
The gore - and pretty much everything else - is a ketchup-fest played for laughs.
But you have to be on in the joke, which obviously some of the reviewers aren't.
Bruce Campbell truly shines and this is the movie that made him into the cult hero that he has become.
Some of the quotes have become a permanent feature of modern pop culture.
You owe it to yourself and your kids to grab some popcorn, watch and laugh together... for endless repeated viewings, for many, many years to come.
