Add a CommentI had watched another movie by the director Caroline Link that I enjoyed immensely. I stumbled on this movie after it had started on Saturday nite on TVO. I got the library copy and got a better understanding of the dynamics of the movie. The film focuses on a young girl with deaf mute parents that become quite dependent on her. Tension is added when an aunt encourages her to play the clarinet. Sounds simple, but reveals family history. The characters are mostly likeable and you root for them to resolve their tensions. As in life not everything works out, and the ending leaves a little dangling. Very enjoyable.
