I like the layout of the recipes and especially how Bittman separates what can be done ahead of time. However, I did not enjoy eating most of the 20 dinners I cooked out of this recipe book.

I liked this cookbook enough that I might buy my own copy. It is a great cookbook to have for professionals cooking after a long day at the office, or families who need to fit cooking into their busy lives. As someone who is far from being a gourmet chef, I liked that the recipes were detailed with cooking techniques.

Contains some Bittman gems; no images and lots of padding.
