Remember the werewolves of classic stories and films, those bloodthirstymonsters that transformed under the full moon, reminding us of the terriblenature that lives within all of us? Today's werewolves are much more suave-- and even sexy -- and they've moved from British moors to New YorkCity lofts, shaved, and got jobs. But as the tales of these writers will showyou, they remain no less wild and passionate, and they still tug at the part ofour being where a wild animal used to be. Running With the Pack includes stories from Carrie Vaughn, Laura AnneGilman, and C.E. Murphy, and they will convince you that despite theirgentrification, werewolves remain as fascinating and terrifying asever.

I gave this one star. Most of the stories are well written and/or effective, and most are downbeat and depressing. with a few exceptions, the stories end badly (death or worse) for the werewolf protagonists; the last story in the book has the werewolf, while transformed, being taken to the pound and killed, by her husband. Not what was promised in the blurb at all.
