I'm truly glad the Mel Brooks was able to make this anti-racist, anti-redneck and anti-sexist masterpiece before the political, feminist, racist, and LGBTQ intolerant Progressives started trying to destroy artistic freedom. If these…

It was funnier when I was 13, but I have great memories of watching it with friends. Mel Brooks was ahead of his time with themes of inclusivity woven into a comedy movie set in the most exclusive of places and eras of US history.

Wow. I don't think of myself as a Mel Brooks fan, who tends to hit you on the head and then doesn't know when to stop. But the cast, the pace, and this ridiculous tone of '1974 set in 1874' really works. The material is edgy even today…

This horrific society we live in would now cancel this movie and the entire cast. The woke folk don't no how to laugh, and yet when this entered the world lexicon it was on the tip of everyone's tongue. You had to see it. It insults…

A comedy classic that could not be made today with the woke cancel culture crowd. Warning it insults almost every class of people. Do not watch if you are overly sensitive.

Nearly a half-century late, but my wife and I finally watched Blazing Saddles. Even more tasteless and cliche-ridden than I feared for a Mel Brooks film. Despite ourselves, we never stopped laughing. Roger Ebert commented that Brooks…

Probably the best western comedy around. Another Mel Brooks classic. Certainly not politically correct in any way but it was released in the 70's so they got away with a lot. Gene Wilder gives a great performance. Just hilarious.

This classic Mel Brooks and Richard Pryor parody of the American western film is full of dark satire that is very divisive--it seems to be a "love it or hate it" movie. Among other things, it unflinchingly depicts racism with humor ranging…
Jokes about rape are NOT funny. Not only are there at least two jokes about rape, but most of the so-called jokes are either crude or down-right unconscionable. Given that this movie has become a cult-classic, I expected so much more. I…

Blazing Saddles is on my "Top 10" movies of all time. It's over-the-top and is chock full of quotable lines and memorable scenes. If it's on TV, it's one of those that I'll have to watch at least a few minutes.
Highly recommended!

Politically incorrect film that skewered everybody equally.
Gucci saddlebag?
Over the top? Yep.
However, it still relevant today on how much work to counter racism.
