This was a decent read till it got closer to the end. I did not find the ending fulfilling and it felt like a quick mash up.
I've read better Lisa Gardner books so recommend a pass on this one

Very interesting beginning with a good mystery to solve. But then, it went on and on for 37 chapters, with the resolution not until chapter 35. I lost interest. Didn't like any of the characters; the most sympathetic character was a…

I didn’t realize this was a detective series book. I likely wouldn’t have read it, because I feel the additional characters just dilute the gist and add unnecessary pages.
The premise was good. The characters were believable. The action…

Thoroughly enjoyed the majority of this book. Gardner is one of the few that does multiple perspectives seamlessly. I appreciate that she reserves first person for the victim; everyone else speaks in third person. Authors who have…

THE NEIGHBOR is a very complex police procedural that I enjoyed thoroughly. It kept me guessing until the end. I know Lisa Gardner is a prolific writer, but I haven't read of many of her books. (A matter of cost, and how quickly I devour…

Nothing admirable about any of the characters, a chicken salad without the chicken. Lots of italicized (which I hate) episodes, a worn tapestry with a rushed ending. Nobody wins or should win in this convoluted story.

Another fantastic book. I would recommend everyone to read if they like a mystery. I had a hard time putting this book down...kept me reading day and night.

So many, many good things to say about this story--but every one is a spoiler. I can say that the reader knows early on that none of the suspects are guilty, and the frustrations that D.D. feels at having to follow the evidence when she…

I enjoyed this book, unlike some of the other reviews though I found the beginning a bit slow. But by the time I was midway through I couldn't put it down. Admittingly I found some of the chapters with the Police a little uninteresting and…

I'm disappointed....its a fast read but too many details that bog the storyline...the last 15 pages excellent but I need more substance..I read this book large print maybe that could have been a deterrent

Same old, same old junk. If I want to read details about this dysfunction & sickness the daily paper provides enough. IMO all her books are the same & not worth my time.
"In Boston, Massachusetts, a pretty young teacher has disappeared from her home, leaving her young daughter asleep upstairs. While at first it seems possible, if unlikely, that she left of her own volition, things don't quite add up... and…

I really enjoyed this book. It is fast-paced and keeps you wanting to know more. Some of the characters are are a little off in their cedibility but I suspended my disbelief and enjoyed the ride!
