I can't recommend this strongly enough! If you enjoy thoughtful films with characters that are human and complex, this is for you. The mystery of the story unfolds gradually, and is part of the beauty of the film. Be sure not to read…

Kristin Scott-Thomas is a marvel to watch in this film as she was in Suite Française. I recommend you watch both these films. Enjoy.

Powerful performance from Scott-Thomas. Great directing. The characters built up at a nice pace but there were enough subtle turns to keep them interesting. The weakest link for me was its ending but still a very good movie.

A well-acted drama about a woman leaving prison after a 15-year sentence and the efforts she and her younger sister go through to make the transition. I was surprised at how easy the transition was, but perhaps that is partly because very…

Stunning film. Kristen Scott Thomas is brilliant as she usually is. Builds slowly but keeps you on edge. A tear jerker but in a good way. A must-see.

An interesting look at life after prison. This film is a bit predictable but none the less enjoyable.

Scott-Thomas delivers a powerful performance in this somber well constructed film. An interesting film worth seeing.

Great movie. Unfolding slowly, the main character initially is withdrawn and uncertain of her future, As we see her interact with her family, after a long estrangement, she reveals more and more about herself and her feelings. Kristen…

Brilliant in its simplicity of style. Overwhelming to see how one person loving you- really loving you - for a long time can make all the difference. The performances of both leading ladies will awe you.

Good movie. Scott-Thomas's performance is very good. The movie did get a little maudlin for me at times. I did get frustrated with the main character very self absorbed at first, but considering what had happened to her it can be forgiven.

Not a rah rah shoot them up movie and not a straight forward plot progression. Very well done and touching. There are some hints that lead to erroneous plot conclusions. There is very good credible acting. The plot is dark most…

Kristin Scott Thomas and her co-star Elsa Zylberstein hand over brilliant performances, keeping the emotion at an appropriate level throughout the film. The quiet reserve of Juliette ( Kirstin's character)hides the truth as to why she…

A dark and sad story, but very interesting to watch! French with English subtitles. A 2008 TIFF official selection.

I recently read the book "Brodeck" and it turned me on to the author Philippe Claudel - and he is the screenwriter of this film. He is a wonderful talent. Also, the acting of the two leading actresses was amazing. They truly felt like…

I really enjoyed the slow denouement in this movie. It's quiet, thought provoking and leads to a somewhat predictable conclusion (otherwise, we could never accept and appreciate the main character). Kristin Scott Thomas is a fabulous…

Fantastic performances as well as a simple context but a complicated plot make this film wonderful. It was never uncomfortable to watch, boring, or grotesque in any way. By far one of my favourite French films.

Both Kristin Scott Thomas & Elsa Zylberstein turn in exceptional performances as sisters reunited after a long & initially unexplained separation. In addition, I especially liked this film’s pace & tenderness; the emotional responses it…

I didn't find the movie all that captivating. Kristin Scott Thomas did an alright job...she didn't have a lot of dialog. I wondered if French was a second language for her (hence the minimalist lines).

Good – I’ve Loved You So Long (2008) 117 min. Solid film starring Kristin Scott Thomas as one who’s completed 15 years of prison and tries to re-integrate into society. All we’re told early on is that she murdered someone but as society…
