Stephen King constantly surprises us. I really enjoyed this. Totally different from his other books, but then, King's writing is never what's expected. I read it in one day.

This is not a new SK novel, It's is a remake of "Thinner"...

A tale of bigotry overcome and a strange phenomenon metaphor for how we can elevate above misunderstanding and hate.

I listened to the audiobook on the way home from a long trip and I was absolutely captivated by this title. Hunting for something that would take about 3 hours, I randomly selected this title, and sat back to endure what followed. But…

I never thought I would ever say this about Stephen King, but I wish he had written a longer book. The underlying premise is intriguing: Our protagonist is losing weight, but not mass. More critically, even if he loads himself down with…

I enjoyed this. Not earth shattering, more like visiting a good friend. Time well spent. I feel sorry for the haters who are leaving reviews calling this political. It's not.

very quick read. I always like King's short stories (The Mist is my all time favorite). This is a short story as well. I feel like characters are quickly fleshed out and story moves quickly. A good story overall.

Elevation takes a step away from Stephen King's usual writing; instead of a long horror, this shorter book features the motif of social acceptance in a community: A huge leap away from his typical writing. The book starts with the…

Sorry Mr. King, but this one falls flat right out of the gate. Not one of his better novellas. The dialogue doesn't have that SK snap, it's just, sadly vapid dialogue and not much more.

This book was a tad tone deaf. Tad? Who am I kidding? The characters were either flat or so unlikely (including their likeability and in regards to their being stereotypes) as to be ludicrous. Also, has everyone forgotten Thinner? This was…

Elevation is one of Stephen Kings novellas which has a lighter tale of a story unlike most of Kings horror novels and his latest published book. In Elevation, Scott becomes lonely after a divorce he didn’t want. Scott is slightly…

A non-horror novella from Stephen King. This is more of a magical realism short story. It's not his best work, but still an enjoyable read set in Castle Rock.

Great book - reinforces that King is a great author and not only from the Horror genre. This little novel is far from horror and uplifting story.

Whimsical, gentle fable that you'll remember. Stephen King is best known as a master of horror and suspense. But he's also a man with a great humanistic heart. He let his heart rule his head when he wrote this one. You'll likely…

This was a wonderful feel good story. It is a short story offering a small glimpse into life in a small town. If you are looking for a short feel good story this is the one for you. (No it is not a horror)

Had to set the 50-page rule on this one, just couldn't find King's groove on this story. Oh well, he'll write more.

I've tried Stephen King long time ago and could not get into horror as a genre. That being said, Elevation is such a lovely, hmmm . . . uplifting departure! King's writing style is tight and beautifully literary in this short work. Like…

Not typically my kind of read, but something drew me to this book. In 146 pages, The King, has changed me! I want to buy this book and leave it at bus stops and restaurants so lucky people will find it and enjoy one of the best reads I…

A pretty good short King read. Although I could of done without his political views.

I got far enough into it to realize that King's politics, not the story, were going to be the focus of the book and returned it. I read fiction to escape, not to be preached to, whether or not I agree with what's being preached.
