This was a gorgeously written story about stories. The Ten Thousand Doors of January is a book meant for readers, with every page conveying that every story that you encounter is a door, is magic, is a force for change.

This was absolutely fantastic! As someone who doesn't like sports, I sure do like a sport story, especially since they are so often about more than sports. In the case of Grizzlies, it was a story of a community, their struggles, and how one teacher was able to make an impact by bringing his students together. While this movie had heartbreaking moments, it was ultimately uplifting offering a sense of hope to the community in Nunavut. This was absolutely fantastic! Really great follow-up to the first Sarah Gilchrist mystery. Sarah continues to be a compelling character and I admire her drive to reach for more in life than almost everyone in her life wants to give her. Considering the ending of this particular book, I'm quite curious to see which direction certain character relationships will develop.Really great follow-up to the first Sarah Gilchrist mystery. Great ending to this trilogy! Amalia was a fascinating character, especially with the role that she was thrust into and ultimately embraced. Fans of character-driven fantasy will love this one.

I absolutely loved A Bend in the Stars. For me, Miri was the stand out character. I loved her conflicted devotion to her fiance and her drive to be a successful and professional woman during a time where this was challenging. The WWI setting was also compelling and the Russian setting was more unusual give many of the recently published war novels that have come out in the past couple of years. The Flatshare was an amazing debut. It was a romance with a lot of meat. Both Leon and Tiffy were great characters, and I especially enjoyed Tiffy's development as she moved on from an emotionally abusive relationship. This one reminded me of Elinor Oliphant is Completely Fine. And, if you get a chance to listen to the audio, it only makes the reading experience that much better. The Flatshare was an amazing debut. An interesting peak at Canadian history; however, despite the grittiness of the setting, I felt that the characterization of both the characters and the locales were done with a light touch. While enjoyable, I felt that At the Mountain's Edge, read more like a Hallmark movie rather than a truly realistic depiction of life during the gold rush.An interesting peak at Canadian history; however, despite the grittiness of the setting, I felt that the characterization of both the characters and the locales were done with a light touch. This was an excellent retelling of Austen's Pride and Prejudice. It was gender swapped and thankfully different enough from the original to feel refreshing. There are a lot of Pride and Prejudice retellings out there, and many of them fail to be engaging because they are so similar to the original (I've read that, and quite frankly, retellings are boring when they are the too similar). Dev's novel is fun and great start to a new series! Highly recommended. This was an excellent retelling of Austen's Pride and Prejudice. A solid addition to the series from Bishop; however, it repeats much of the ground covered in the first books in the series. The characters and themes are extremely reminiscent of the previous books. Still, the world is intriguing.

Very different from Bouchet's fantasy romance series, but this was a lot of fun. More romances should be set in space. It will be quite interesting where Bouchet takes readers next in this series.
